FCM has launched a new reporting
tool powered by artificial intelligence that allows users to query a company’s travel data using
natural language search requests and have it turned into actionable insights.
The travel
management company says the AI Reporting Tool is “akin to a
search engine for travel data”.
The concept for the tool
was developed by FCM parent company Flight Centre’s Innovation Community, a
group of internal collaborators from across the business led by Stephen
Pitcher, FCM’s chief data science officer. The community works on
innovations that are designed to enhance the customer experience or solve
internal challenges.
FCM’s new AI Reporting Tool can build reports with more than 15 chart
options and custom calculations, interpret synonymous requests that are phrased
differently, offer suggestions for key metrics and provide hints as users type.
The company claims: “While
AI technology isn’t new to the industry, it has never been used for this level
of detailed reporting and analytics. Often travel data does not get used
to its full potential because analysing it is too laborious.”
FCM’s global managing director
Marcus Eklund said: “Our new AI technology will enable FCM’s customers to take
their data reporting to the next level, giving them easy access to their travel
costs, patterns and requirements. This is going to save them time and energy,
which are important as businesses start to travel again after their Covid-19
hiatus."
The new tool is available to FCM multinational clients globally and is
being rolled out with a three-month free trial offer as part of FCM’s October pledge campaign
which aims to get its clients back to business.
