Egencia has launched a new tool that uses machine learning to automatically generate personalised settings for clients’ travel approval processes.
The tool uses data from more than 2,000 companies to simplify and reduce the time it takes for companies to set up approval workflows on Egencia’s platforms.
The approval recommendation tool assesses a company’s needs based on industry, location, company size, projected annual travel spend and number of travellers.
It then uses data from 65,000 approval workflow combinations to find the best practices to match the client’s profile. The tool produces an “instant” recommendation for a client’s travel approval policy, which can be implemented within “a few clicks”.
Egencia, which is now part of American Express Global Business Travel, also announced plans to integrate the tool with the Slack messaging app later this year to create a new channel for quicker and easier travel approvals.
Francisca Zanoguera, Egencia’s vice president of data and analytics, said: “Our customers expect us to provide data insights to help improve their travel programmes.
“We are going one step further to make it even easier to use those insights to quickly create personalised, effective approval policies. By powering our travel management tools with AI, we continue to deliver an intelligent travel experience for travel managers and travellers.”
