Spanish airline Iberia says NDC channels now represent 20 per cent of its sales in its home market, with around 3,600 travel agencies now using its dedicated channel.
The airline and its sister carrier British Airways have signed deals with aggregators Lleego Travel Market and Grupo Iris to integrate all services offered via the NDC standard, meaning they can distribute this exclusive content to agencies and incorporate whatever additional content or functionality the airlines may put on the channel.
In addition, as announced in November, starting today Iberia’s cheapest fares – classes O and A – on more than 20 domestic routes will be available exclusively to NDC-connected agencies.
Iberia said the second stage of its NDC implementation process will continue in March with the incorporation of 150 European routes.
