ATPCO has developed new capabilities allowing airlines to
more quickly change fares and release them to the market.
The Rapid Fare Update gives airlines a single workflow to
query markets, update fares and put them out to market, according to ATPCO.
Prior to the workflow, airlines had to either manage pricing through
spreadsheets or have training across multiple ATPCO applications.
With the Covid-19 pandemic forcing airline staff reductions,
carriers are losing "their legacy knowledge of how to file fares and
respond to market conditions, so they need a solution that doesn't require
legacy domain knowledge", ATPCO head of global accounts Chris Phillips
said.
More than 50 airlines have filed to use Rapid Fare Update
within the first week, Phillips said. The capability is especially important as
airlines try to adjust pricing within the pandemic, which requires "a big
trial and error to see what is going to be successful in the market now",
ATPCO director of global sales Will Linderman said.
