Conferma Pay is integrating its virtual
card mobile wallet into European digital taxi network and marketplace iGo,
enabling business travellers to book, pay for and reconcile rides using within
the iGO app.
Under the integration, payment is transferred
from Conferma's virtual card wallet directly to the private hire or taxi
company’s account as soon as the ride is complete, meaning riders don't have to
pay with cash or card and subsequently report the expense for reimbursement.
iGo’s network currently includes 150,000
taxis across Europe – and Conferma said the instant payment transfer via its
wallet could incentivise taxi companies to take more jobs through the iGo
network. Meanwhile, the increased emphasis on social distancing as travel
resumes in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic is also likely to drive increased
emphasis on contactless payment methods, according to Conferma.
"As travel slowly begins again, our
partnership with iGo will enable contactless taxi payments, directly from the
corporate account, using virtual cards embedded in a digital wallet,"
noted Paul Raymond, director of strategic relationships for Conferma. "This
makes the traveller experience safer, while supplier payments are quicker, more
controlled and secure.”
Conferma's virtual wallet recently integrated Visa virtual cards and can also be used with Mastercard. iGo integrates with a number of business travel aggregators, including CMAC, Gett and Brunel, a Europcar Company.
