Ground transport provider Carey International has named former hotel executive Alexander Mirza as its new CEO.
Mirza will take the reins from Mitchell Lahr, who is retiring from Carey after being at the helm as president and CEO since February 2020. Lahr has been with the company since 2001.
Carey said in a statement that Lahr would "work closely with Mirza to ensure a smooth transition over the next few months".
"Carey's reputation for excellence leads the industry and I am hugely excited to now be part of its legacy,” said Mirza. “My aim is to merge data-driven strategy with the refined demands of the luxury market, delivering innovative solutions that drive sustainable growth and enhance client experience.”
Mirza has more than 25 years of experience "with organisations rooted in technology, hospitality, travel, entertainment and consulting," according to Carey.
He was most recently CEO and co-founder of Mogul Hotels & Residences and previously worked for Cachet Hotels & Resorts, Caesars Entertainment, Hilton Hotels Corporation, Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Deloitte, according to his LinkedIn profile.
