Corporate Traveller has announced plans to launch in the United States on July 1.
Owned by Flight Centre, the small and medium enterprise (SME) specialist will be headquartered in Los Angeles.
It will initially also have offices in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, New York, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington DC, with further expansion likely to follow.
FCm Travel, a travel management company also owned by Flight Centre, already operates in the US.
Gary Sutton, who has been with Flight Centre for 16 years, will head up Corporate Traveller’s US operations.
He has been FCm Travel’s US national operations manager since 2009, before which he was operations leader for Corporate Traveller in Canada.
Sutton said the decision to launch in the US was down to a growing number of companies are self-managing their travel through online travel companies, and are not benefitting from a managed travel programme.
“We feel the time is right to launch the Corporate Traveller brand in the US,” he said.
“International experience has shown there is demand for a business model which offers our clients a local dedicated account manager who takes the time to build a relationship with travellers and travel coordinators allowing for delivery of a more personal and insightful service.”
