Sydney-based TMC Travelforce is to be rebranded following its acquisition by Egencia, Expedia’s business travel arm.
The company will initially be labeled as Travelforce, an Egencia Company during a transition period.
The deal, for an undisclosed sum, means Expedia’s business travel division gains a presence in Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland and Wellington via Travelforce, which has operated in Australasia for 30 years.
Egencia Australia country director Ken Pfaffmann becomes managing director of the acquisition. Travelforce chief executive Wayne Swaysland will remain for a six-month changeover period, but the majority of management and staff will be retained.
Egencia Asia Pacific managing director Cecilia Routledge said: “After years as partners, we are proud and excited to welcome Travelforce as a close member of the Egencia family.
“Travelforce has an unparalleled reputation in the industry, and the combination of our talented teams will bring an even stronger offering and service to Australian and New Zealand companies and their travellers."
