Budgeting, expense and rewards app Travelbank is launching integrations in June that will allow users to book and automatically expense accommodation for their business trips.
The Hotels integration offers Travelbank desktop users access to more than 500,000 properties worldwide. Business travellers can search, book, manage and expense their hotel stays using the platform.
Travelbank says the app encourages travellers to book within a set budget by offering rewards points depending on how far below budget their booking is. For instance, if a user is given $1,000 to spend but their hotel only costs $700, they will receive $150 worth of rewards, which they can redeem with Travelbank’s partners including Uber, Lyft and Amazon.
Last year, Travelbank introduced in-app flight booking. The company says it has increased its business users by 30 times since then and is on track to reimburse more than $1 million in expenses this year.
The company also announced that it will launch LodgingX, an integration that will allow users to book and expense sharing economy accommodation through Airbnb, VRBO and Homeaway. Travelbank claims this will provide business travellers with access to more than 4 million properties worldwide.
In addition, the platform will feature an analytics dashboard that will provide companies with data and insights into their corporate travel spend.
