Travel Counsellors has reported record sales for January with a 7 per cent year on year increase.
The travel management company achieved a new company record in January by securing the top four selling days in its history in 2015 with combined sales of more than £10.8 million.
Travel Counsellors for Business, the company’s corporate travel sub-brand, also experienced strong growth with sales for January up 9 per cent on last year and 24 of the company’s agents producing more than £100,000 in sales for last month.
Travel Counsellors managing director Steve Byrne, said: “January has been an incredibly successful month for our Travel Counsellors and we are delighted to have experienced record sales across our global operations.
“Throughout what is traditionally a busy booking period for the industry we have been dedicated to supporting our agents and helping them to drive sales and reach out to their customers.
“As a result on average each UK agent has increased their income by 12% and a record 259 Travel Counsellors had their best ever sales month in January,” said Byrne.
Last October, Travel Counsellors announced that Equistone Partners Europe, a mid-market private equity firm, has invested a stake in the independent travel company.
