Travel Counsellors has reported a record month of sales for January, with a sharp rise in corporate bookings.
The company saw bookings top £48 million for the first time.
Corporate travel sales rose 18 per cent in the UK compared with the same period last year, and 14 per cent across all seven operations, driven by a 14 per cent increase.
Travel Counsellors said much of this can be attributed to an increase in corporate travellers recognising the “value in having a trusted travel advisor who caters to their individual needs”.
Travel Counsellors CEO Steve Byrne said: “This is obviously really exciting news for the business and the industry as a whole, and is a promising sign that people are looking optimistically towards 2017 in both the leisure and corporate travel markets.
“We have been focused on supporting our 1,600 Travel Counsellors globally, with a dedicated support team looking after our corporate travel specialists, so they are able to focus on providing a truly bespoke and highly personal service to their clients. This is where they excel and why we are confident our strong bookings will continue.”
