Homeworking specialist Travel Counsellors has become the latest member of the GTMC.
The Bolton-based company has been expanding its presence in the business travel market in recent years and ranked 20th in Buying Business Travel’s annual list of the 50 Leading TMCs published in our May/June edition.
Travel Counsellors is the fifth new company to join the GTMC since the start of 2014 and follows hot on the heels of Heathrow which also became a member this week.
Steve Byrne, managing director of Travel Counsellors, said: “Our corporate travel sector is the fastest growing area of our business, increasing on average by over 30 per cent over the last four years, as clients recognise the value in the high levels of personal, concierge service our agents can provide.
“As we continue to expand and invest in our corporate travel offering, joining the GTMC as the UK’s leading professional body for TMCs makes solid business sense.”
Travel Counsellors said it now had 100 agents who specialised entirely in business travel while another 200 worked across both corporate and leisure markets.
“Connecting emotionally with clients and providing a personal concierge service that saves the client time and money will form the cornerstone of success for business travel in the future, and the agents that do this well are those that have an assured future,” added Byrne.
GTMC chief executive Paul Wait added: “The GTMC now has its highest ever number of members and partners and Travel Counsellors is a high profile and valuable addition to our organisation.”
