TD Travel has acquired hotel booking agency Hotelscene to create a new expanded business to be called Corporate Travel International.
The new combined CTI business has sales of £100 million per year and employs more than 150 staff at six offices across the UK. Terms of the deal to buy Bristol-based Hotelscene have not been disclosed.
TD Travel’s CEO Ian White now becomes boss of Corporate Travel International, while Hotelscene CEO Chris Needham takes the role of CTI’s chief information officer. The new enlarged company will have offices in Wilmslow, Leeds, Liverpool, Hull, London and Bristol.
White said: “As a single entity, CTI can provide an integrated travel management service that brings together our heritage of market-leading travel and hotel booking expertise that delivers real savings to businesses operating in the UK and global markets.
“Following the acquisition, we now have an exceptionally strong and differentiated proposition for the business travel market and plan to build on this further with the launch of a unique online booking platform this autumn.”
TD Travel was purchased by its management team in March 2012 with the assistance of private equity firm LDC, which is part of Lloyds Banking Group.
Steve Harrison, Director at LDC in Yorkshire and the North East, said: “CTI now has the breadth of services and geographic spread to fully capitalise on the growing demand for cost saving and consultant-led corporate travel services.
"The business has an experienced and motivated management team that will take it to the next stage of its exciting growth trajectory.”
