Agreement signed with Worktopia
A new deal to help companies get control over meetings spend has been signed between Travelocity Business (TBiz) and Worktopia, a supplier of booking tools for meetings.
Under the agreement Worktopia's Universal Meeting Solution (UMS) will power the online agency's new meetings booking service.
UMS automates bookings for small, off site meetings. It can also do price comparisons, book function space and overnight accommodation for delegates across hotel brands.
The online agency, part of Sabre Holdings, said it planned to set up a team of agents to provide the service to clients.
It will also offer UMS as a self booking tool to clients who wish to manage their own meetings programme.
Lesley Harris, TBiz's s president, said: "Companies of all sizes are under more pressure than ever to manage, justify and report on meeting spend.
"By providing our customers with new visibility and centralised control over expense policy, we are opening the door to significant savings opportunities for a huge category of unmanaged spend."
John Arenas, Worktopia's ceo, said: "The efficiency of automated booking means immediate opportunities for savings and control for customers and market share shift for suppliers who embrace it."
