Travel and event management company TAG has partnered with EarthCheck, the scientific benchmarking, certification and advisory
group for travel and tourism, to benchmark and certify the group’s Asia Pacific offices, working towards the goal of being carbon neutral. TAG's offices in the UK and US will follow
suit in 2022.
EarthCheck and TAG will work on a variety of ESG
projects together, focusing on both TAG’s global office footprint and engaging clients and
partners around the world to embrace and support sustainability efforts.
Shane Barr, managing director of TAG Asia Pacific (pictured left), said providing
evidence-based, credible certification can enable businesses to act for the
health of the planet.
“We have always been committed to offering the best in service and
support across the globe. We have seen a significant interest in our
sustainability commitments, so partnering with EarthCheck was a natural fit in our evolving ESG
roadmap. It’s an exciting partnership and we’re looking forward to
collaborating with EarthCheck to further engage our partners on a global
scale.”
Stewart Moore, CEO and founder of EarthCheck (pictured right), said of the partnership, “It is a unique opportunity for the tourism industry to take
action and
drive its message of responsible travel across the global community. Hygiene,
general visitor safety, cleanliness, and sustainability can be expected to be
front and centre in the forward travel and leisure plans for all visitor
markets as we move into a reset and recovery phase where travel restrictions
and physical distancing is gradually relaxed.”
