The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has awarded its annual Sustainability Award to Carlson Wagonlit (CWT) .
The travel management company was recognized for improving the sustainability of its own operations, as well as working with Defra to help it achieve its own sustainability objectives.
CWT helped Defra to introduce a shift in transport choice from air to rail to reduce CO2 and achieve government set targets.
Defra's procurement and contracts division judged the entries for the awards, as well as senior managers and a sustainability advisor.
Sandy Moring, senior director, public sector and sustainability, said: "We are delighted to be recognised for our sustainability efforts and look forward to further developing our solutions for Defra, its fellow public sector organisations and our corporate clients.
"CWT seeks to continually improve our products and practices to deliver an increasingly sustainable travel programme offering."
