Redfern Travel used the Business Travel Show to unveil an integrated booking system which permits accommodation and travel purchasing on the same page.
The system, called Trips, uses intelligent packaging software developed by Micros.
Mark Bowers, chief executive of the Bradford-based TMC, said: “There is not anyone in the market that has a genuine intelligent booking system that integrates numerous suppliers and modes of transport at the same time."
Destination searches within the UK will prompt a rail search as well as air options without a separate request being made. Travel requests which are not same day itineraries will prompt an automatic search for hotel options. A package price is then produced in a check-out style.
Bowers said the system had been instrumental in the TMC winning the contract for UK central government domestic travel provision recently.
The package also offers video conferencing search options and expense management. A live chat facility can connect the booker to a Redfern staff member.
Bowers said the system meant Redfern could manage ‘four to five times’ the number of transactions more per member of staff than its competitors.
