Three quarters
of companies in a new survey have revealed that they have communicated to their
business travellers that travel can restart.
The poll of
American Express GBT clients and travellers showed that the figure has increased
from 60 per cent when the survey was last carried out in May.
The survey
has also revealed that 64 per cent of companies have lifted or relaxed approval
restrictions (up from 44 per cent) and 55 per cent have lifted or relaced
booking restrictions (up from 23 per cent).
Drilling
down into the detail, the TMC found that 26 per cent of North American clients
are planning to get back on the road in the next 30 days, compared with 16 per
cent in Latin America, 14 per cent in Asia Pacific and just 10 per cent in the
EMEA region.
Of the business
travel that has been planned, 53 per cent is ‘business critical’, client-related
activity is 35 per cent while internal travel sits at 18 per cent.
