GetThere boosts European business
GetThere has increased its presences in Europe with new staff appointed in Italy, France and the UK.
The provider of online corporate travel reservation technology said Annette Forbes-Marsden who has been with the company for seven years, becomes its sales and marketing manager for Europe.
Guy Snelgar who previously worked for Portman Travel and Galileo, has joined the company to focus on UK sales.
Dario Bongiovanni has joined form rival GDS as GetThere's business development manager for Italy and will be based in Milan.
His job will be to grow the online business in Italy.
Marc Losier who was GetThere's customer services manager for clients in south east America, has moved to London to oversee account services in Europe.
Steve Gostling, who is based in the UK, and Sandra Pezzino, who is based in Italy, have also joined the company to work with Isabelle Fleschen, GetThere's global account manager EMEA.
Amadeus strengthens UK team
GDS and travel IT company Amadeus has strengthened its UK team.
Rachel Castle is promoted to head of sales with Beverley Barden joining the company as head of customer segment management.
Ms Castle has worked for Amadeus since 2003, dealing with both the SME market and multi-national businesses.
In her new role, she will lead Amadues' UK sales team with particular attention to the SME market.
Ms Barden previously worked for Advantage Travel, a consortium of independent agencies where she was head of marketing.
In her new post, she will promote the various customer segments served by the company.
Hotelscene appoints new chairman
Hotelscene, an online hotel and conference booking agency, has appointed Nick Temple as its new chairman.
Mr Temple worked for many years at IBM and is also now chairman of several other companies, among them Datatec, Datacash and Capula.
