Low-cost carrier Norwegian has reported year-on-year growth, carrying 14 per cent more passengers this September compare to last year.
In addition, the airline reports its strongest growth on its intercontinental routes, with its load factor increasing to 90 per cent. A total of 3,165,031 passengers flew with Norwegian last month. Total traffic growth (RPK) increased by 29 per cent, while capacity growth (ASK) went up by 28 per cent.
Norwegian says it operated 99.6 per cent of scheduled flights in September, with 77.9 per cent departing on time. The airline is in the midst of a fleet renewal programme and took delivery of a Dreamliner and a Boeing 737.
Bjørn Kjos, CEO of Norwegian, said: “The demand is good and stable in Scandinavia, and the growth is highest on our intercontinental routes. Global expansion is important to position ourselves in a market with such strong competition, but also for creating economic value in the markets we operate.”
