Traveller safety consultancy Maiden Voyage has expanded its advisory board, bringing "wide-ranging expertise in customer success, sales and marketing". Joining are Genevieve Martin, Emma Maslen and Laurence Bret-Stern.
The company said the appointments were made in response to the global focus on diversity in the workplace, contrasting with the sharp increase in high-profile cases of gender-based harassment and assault often committed during business-related travel assignments.
Bret-Stern has more than 20 years' experience as marketing executive at organisations such as LinkedIn, AOL, Orange and Pipedrive. She also holds non-exec and board positions, and is the UK director of investment platform OneRagtime.
Martin, meanwhile, is a sales director with a similar amount of experience in the technology industry, covering consulting, services and solutions. At Dell Technologies, she leads the Global Alliances Services business for EMEA. Previously she has held leadership and account management roles at Symantec, Charteris and Logica (CGI).
Maslen, a senior technology leader, most recently worked at SAP Concur as MD, and prior to that at Sun Microsystems and BMC Software. She is now taking a break from the corporate world and advising start-ups.
Carolyn Pearson, CEO and founder of Maiden Voyage, said: “This is an exciting time in the evolution of Maiden Voyage, with an explosion in the focus on traveller safety and duty of care. We want to be equipped to service our customers in the best way possible through the support of real industry heavyweights. I personally selected our advisors, a team of extremely experienced individuals who are as passionate about our vision to make the world a safer place."
Maiden Voyage chairman Tony Rice added: “I’m delighted that we’ve secured the support of such talented experts to help us to expand the foothold Maiden Voyage has in the market and am looking forward to the next chapter as we meet the needs of this growing sector”.
