Level Women gets new name

By Molly Dyson / 21 May 2019 / Contact Reporter

Industry group Level Women has been renamed LEVEL UK as it aims to support gender balance in the nation’s business travel market.

The rebrand coincides with other changes for the group, including the creation of an advisory board to provide constructive feedback and guidance to ensure the group remains relevant.

Furthermore, LEVEL UK will now be led by a team of four following the appointment of Sonia Michaels from Advantage Travel Partnership and Louise Kilgannon from Festive Road. Co-founders Sam Cande from Traveldoo and Ami Taylor from SAP Concur will remain in leadership roles.

Caroline Strachan from Festive Road has made the decision to step down in order to allow others to move into leadership roles.

Cande commented: “We are delighted to welcome Sonia and Louise to the renamed LEVEL UK. We also believe we have created an advisory board of trusted professionals, our critical friends, in order to ensure that our focus remains on the challenges and issues facing women who are underrepresented at senior levels in our industry.”

Taylor added: “When speaking to our industry colleagues, we realised that our previous name, ‘Level Women’, gave the impression that we were solely a group for and about women, when our aim is to be inclusive and involve everyone in this important conversation. Change in organisations is expedited when it’s led top down and with men currently in the majority of senior ranks, educating and influencing them to help support gender balance in their organisations is critical to the success of our vision.”

LEVEL UK will hold its next event on 29 May in London, with guest speaker Marie-Christine Maheas set to speak about her book, Gender Balance: When Men Step Up. To register, click here
