Charities specialist TMC Key Travel has taken over the contract to provide travel services for VSO UK (Voluntary Services Overseas).
The London-based TMC, which is owned by GTMC chairman Ajaya Sodha, is now providing the international development charity with travel booking, visa services, risk management and automated online booking systems.
The contract with VSO UK is worth £6 million and was secured by Key Travel, which specialises in the not-for-profit sector, after a competitive tendering process.
Jason Baldaro, VSO International’s global procurement and facilities Manager, said: “It was obvious from the start of the process that the product and service level offered to us by Key Travel far exceeded that being offered by the competition.
“Other factors in our decision included Key Travel’s competitive fares, its proactive use of online booking systems and its inhouse management of visa services – all of which are extremely important for our volunteers and staff working overseas across the developing world.”
Key Travel’s managing director Andy Speller added: “Key Travel has long experience of working with organisations which send volunteers to some of the world’s most remote and dangerous locations and we look forward to meeting VSO UK’s travel needs.
“This win is testament to the professionalism and innovation of Key Travel staff, the high quality of the services we offer and the investment we have made in key areas such as technology.”
