Key Travel, a TMC specialising in faith, humanitarian and
academic travel, has launched a partnership with crowd-funded NGO Cool Effect
to make carbon offsetting credits available to corporate clients through the KT
Online booking tool from the end of 2020.
The company’s clients will have the option at point of sale
to offset their travel and contribute to global initiatives that support
conservation, clean energy and efficient production. According to Key Travel,
it is also publicly committing to being carbon neutral as an organisation by
2025 and is working with Cool Effect as an initiative to achieving that goal.
Key Travel CEO Saad Hammad said: “Every time a trip is
purchased, the carbon footprint can be measured, and offsetting action taken to
minimise the adverse impact on our planet. The solution to climate change is
not necessarily to stop travelling, but to travel responsibly, and carbon
offsetting is a step forward for those whose travel is essential. We serve
customers who travel to help communities in need across the globe and they
often need to be on the ground to make a difference.”
