Family-run TMC Ian Allan Travel its celebrating its 50th anniversary with a display that includes Laurel and Hardy, 1960s sales agreements with Pan Am, and a 1976 Travicom terminal recalling the GDSs in their infancy.
The photos and memorabilia, including items from the final flight of BA’s Concorde, are on display in a George VI Pullman railway carriage that forms the boardroom of Ian Allan’s Shepperton head office.
The company was founded in 1964 by Ian Allan, father of the current chairman Paul, and the exhibition charts Ian’s highly popular ‘Locospotter’ clubs and publications from the 1940s.
