Disruption costs BAA £13m
Disruption at its seven UK airports, including London Heathrow, during the major UK security alert in August, contributed to airport owner BAA's £13m losses for the month.
Passenger numbers rose slightly by 0.3% but were 5% below forecast.
Heathrow, which bore the brunt of the disruption which saw hundreds of flights cancelled, saw its passenger figures fall by 2.2%.
HRG launches new portal
HRG has launched a new web-based portal for its UK clients.
The HRG Portal includes an integrated travel and expense management tool and is designed to simplify transactions for travellers, bookers and travel managers.
HRG described it as a "personalised electronic travel assistant."
Self booking tools survey
Dr Keith Mason of the Business Travel Research Centre at Cranfield University is doing research on behalf of Amadeus IT Group and the Association of Corporate Travel Executives into the corporate use and attitudes to self booking tools.

Virgin Trains trial for print at home tickets
Virgin Trains is launching a trial of print at home tickets for customers who book online.
The trial is due to start next Monday (September 18) for travellers on the London-Birmingham and London-Manchester routes, both heavily used by business travellers.
HRS teams up with Business Travel Direct
Hotel Reservation Service (HRS), one of the largest online hotel booking agencies in Europe, has signed a partnership deal with UK independent Business Travel Direct (BTD).
Under the deal, HRS will work with BTD to offer corporate bookers hotel bookings through a bespoke portal.
