A team of travel industry experts from the Institute of Travel and Meetings (ITM) took to the mountains last week, raising more than £3,440 for charity.
ITM's Meet Working Group, a group of industry professionals who ensure the institute maintains its focus on meetings and events, took on the 3 Peaks Challenge last week for their chosen charity Meetings Industry Meeting Needs.
In just under 24 hours, overnight between June 25 and 26, the team climbed the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales: Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis and Snowdon.
Diane Steed, ITM's head of sales and marketing, said the most challenging was Scafell Pike. "The terrain was really horrible, very loose under foot so hard to walk on," she said.
The climbing team also included: Douglas O'Neil (managing director at Inntel), Ian Jones (director of agency sales, De Vere), Richard Eades (Inkerman Associates), Fay Sharpe (managing director, Zibrant), Yvette Rudge (Deloitte) and Kerrie Henshaw Cox (BP).
David Taylor (sales director, Grassroots) and Grant Appleton (director of accommodation services, Zibrant) acted as drivers.
The team are keen to raise as much cash as possible - anyone who would like to donate should visit: http://www.justgiving.com/MeetMountaineers
