The Institute of Travel and Meetings (ITM) has announced the launch of new ITM resources for buyer members, in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).
The first document available to business members is the “how to” essential guide on “business travel category procurement and management”.
ITM said the document “breaks down the five phases of creating a managed travel programme”.
The guide, worth 2 CPD hours, is also accompanied by templates and tools, including master documents for going to tender, solicitation and pricing.
David Noble, group CEO, CIPS, said: “We are pleased to continue to work with ITM to provide our members with good quality knowledge and practices on how to control travel costs in any organisation.
“This guide is invaluable in terms of helping to understand the breakdown of costs, what influence procurement professionals can have over them and the many components of, and stakeholders involved in a well-managed travel management programme. Travel is a significant spend in most organisations so deserves the appropriate attention to get the best value for money.”
Simone Buckley, ITM CEO, said: “To help members overcome procurement challenges, we have partnered with CIPS to develop accredited continuing professional development (CPD) resources that support your travel programme and include the latest purchasing best practices. Attendance at ITM Workshops also earns CIPS’ members CPD learning hours. These resources complement the ITM educational programme, bringing members the best possible support to achieve professional success.”
The guide is the first in a series of six guides, which will be launched this year.
