The Institute of Travel and Meetings (ITM) has welcomed a group of senior industry leaders to its board of directors.
BCD Travel’s senior vice president Chris Crowley joins alongside Guy Snelgar, sales director for Diners’ Club UK, and Claire Barrie, sales director for serviced apartment provider Oakwood Worldwide.
From the airline sector come British Airways head of corporate sales Marie Hilditch and Virgin Atlantic’s vice president UK sales Scott Davies.
Finally, Leanne Fowler, sales and marketing director of NYS Corporate becomes the youngest member of the board.
ITM chairman Mark Cuschieri said: “A number of extremely talented people from across the industry were considered for board positions.
“I am sure our members will derive huge benefit from those who were finally appointed. The group brings a mixture of youthful zest, experience and enthusiasm. Their presence will inject renewed vigour and undoubtedly help drive the organisation forward over the coming years.”
ITM board members are appointed for a two-year period, with the option of an additional two-year tenure.
Standing down from the board are ATPI’s Adam Knights, Ian Jones from De Vere Hotels and Resorts, Linda Bekoe of Global Hospitality Services and BCD’s Anthony Coyle Dowling.
Past chairman Nicola Lomas, director of travel partnerships for International SOS, has also come to the end of her ITM tenure. Cuschieri said: “Everyone associated with ITM owes Nicola a huge debt of gratitude. She has worked tirelessly to drive the organisation forward over the last six years. Her determination and creativity will be sorely missed.”
