Travel management company (TMC), HRG, has won one of the largest single travel management accounts in the UK, estimated to be in excess of ”100m ($201m) a year, as the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) become clients.
A contract has been established that will run for three years, with an option to extend for a further year. The agreement begins at the end of 2007 with a phased implementation to ensure a smooth handover from the previous contract holder, thought to be fellow industry giant, American Express.
”Although the negotiation and tender period was lengthy because of the need to comply with the government”s rules of engagement, we believe the rigorous process will form the basis for a sound future relationship,” said HRG CEO David Radcliffe.
”The nature of the MOD”s business, which will be serviced with a mixture of technology-led solutions and expert personal service delivery, will make this an exciting account which we know our consultants will enjoy working on.”
