Globalstar wins Petrofac contract

By Molly Dyson / 14 February 2019 / Contact Reporter
Business Travel News on X

Globalstar Travel Management has announced that it has been appointed as one of two companies to service the global travel requirements of international oil and gas service provider Petrofac.

Following a tender process, Airlink has been chosen to provide travel management services for employees in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, while Globalstar will look after the rest of the world for Petrofac.

Petrofac has 12,750 employees, with projects and operations in 29 countries across the world. Its global travel manager Stephanie Rothman, who joined in October, has implemented the company’s new travel programme based on efficiency and cost optimisation, according to Globalstar. She has more than 25 years’ experience in corporate travel management.

Commenting on the contract win, Globalstar president Steve Hartwell said: “Globalstar is delighted to be partnering with Petrofac to assist them with the consolidation and development of their global travel programme. Globalstar teams are already fully engaged with the project that will create enhancements for Petrofac’s travel programme and drive savings.”

Des Thurlby, group director of human resources at Petrofac, added: “We set out in 2018 to evaluate our entire travel management programme. Globalstar and Airlink, together with their local networks, will provide tailored, cost-efficient corporate travel management services to all our employees around the world. By consolidating our travel management through these new global partnerships, we will optimise our travel spend, embrace the latest technology for booking and traveller management and security, and continue to maintain our efficiency and cost-effectiveness in this area.”
