Germany will reopen to UK visitors from Tuesday 4 January, the country’s authorities announced yesterday.
Fully vaccinated UK travellers will be able to enter the country without having to provide a negative Covid-19 test nor will they need to quarantine upon arrival. All visitors must still complete a digital entry registration.
UK visitors were barred from visiting the country from 19 December as infection levels of the Covid-19 variant Omicron rapidly rose.
But from 4 January, the UK will be reclassified – together with eight African nations – from an area of variant of concern to simply a high-risk area.
