The GTMC and technology firm Travelport are teaming up to create a new awards programme for TMCs next year.
The two organisations said that the awards would recognise “excellence and innovation” by GTMC members, with three ceremonies planned at the Business Travel Show in London and GTMC’s annual and autumn conferences.
Simon Ferguson (pictured), Travelport’s UK and Ireland regional director, said: “The awards celebrate the innovation taking place every day in travel management companies. They recognise excellence, share best practice and promote healthy debate around opportunities to evolve and innovate.”
The winners of the awards will be featured in issues of Buying Business Travel during 2014.
Andy Grodecki, manager of industry affairs at GTMC, said: “I would strongly encourage our members to take part and share some of the innovative strategies making our travel companies excel.”
Entries will be judged by the GTMC’s technology panel, alongside representatives from the guild and Travelport.
