Cruxton Business Travel has become the sixth new member of the Guild of Travel Management Companies (GTMC) this year.
The Harrow-based agency’s addition means that the GTMC has achieved a record number of admissions in 2010 following a membership drive that began in February.
Cruxton Business Travel chief executive officer Muslim Kanji said: “The GTMC's composition of the crème de la crème in the business travel industry and the long-standing relationships with the industry suppliers is simply invaluable.
“The GTMC’s powerful lobbying and representation was, however, the chief influencer in what has become a challenging environment and where the business travel industry's contribution to the economy is being taken for granted and at times severely penalized.”
Cruxton’s admission follows that of Amersham-based Giles Travel; South African owned Wings Corporate Travel, TD Travel Group with its four north of England locations; London and Berkshire-based Scholefield Turnbull & Partners PLC and City of London company Baxter Hoare.
GTMC chief executive Anne Godfrey said: “We announced our membership drive in February and to have six new members in such a short time, in an industry still in recovery from the financial restraints of the last few years and at a time of consolidation within the industry, absolutely demonstrates the regard the organisation has in the industry.
"Members are reporting return on investment and that’s crucial in this climate.”
