GBTA has announced that its partner in Africa will be rebranded under the association’s name.
The Institute of Travel & Meetings Southern Africa (ITMSA) will become known as GBTA Southern Africa following the move.
ITMSA was awarded the contract to launch GBTA in Africa last year and the change of brand has been approved by its board.
Paul Tilstone, GBTA’s senior vice president of global operations, said: ”ITMSA leadership recognised the opportunity to be at the heart of GBTA’s plans for the whole of Africa whilst expanding Southern African activity using GBTA’s products, services and resources.
“It is very exciting to have helped ITMSA develop from the beginning and now to see it enter its next stage to help bring education, training and events to the African continent.”
GBTA has also created an Energy, Resource & Marine Task force to develop educational content, research and membership for travel managers working in this specialised sector.
