Former Bath Business Travel (BBT) boss Adam White has bought London-based travel management company Baxter Hoare Travel for an undisclosed sum.
Only two years ago the industry veteran spearheaded the acquisition of the 117-year-old agency for BBT.
But since departing his role as managing director of the Bath family business, White has been working hard to buy the business.
He told ABTN: "I have long dreamt of owning my own business and I am grateful to the Bath family for the opportunity to take on such a talented and experienced team as those at Baxter Hoare to achieve this."
Baxter Hoare is already a member of agency consortium Advantage's specialist business travel group, the Focus Partnership.
And White said he would immediately initiate a move to join the Guild of Travel Management Companies (GTMC), where he was previously deputy chairman.
He could attend next week's GTMC conference in Hong Kong.
Baxter Hoare, based beside Southwark Cathedral at London Bridge, has a strong presence in the Mice market, and has contracts for some 40 global trade fairs and exhibitions.
And though the company's core business is corporate travel, is retains its reputation as a bespoke organiser of leisure travel.
White has more than thirty years in the travel industry. Before joining BBT he was managing director of Business Travel Management (BTM) for 10 years.
