Expedia’s business travel arm Egencia has reported strong growth for year-on-year bookings for 2014.
According to the firm’s annual results bookings were up 21 per cent on the previous year with revenue growing 10 per cent, which it claims is five times faster than its key competitors.
Egencia said this was helped by $1.2 billion worth of new business and surpassed the $5 billion gross booking mark during 2014.
Graham Kingsmill, managing director, Egencia UK said: “Egencia is growing at an exceptional rate due to the way we are transforming business travel technology. With unparalleled insight into emerging travel patterns and our ability to adapt our platforms and service to respond to them quickly, we are well placed to build on this success.”
Last year, Egencia entered into an agreement with Hyatt which will see all properties included in its Egencia Preferred Rate (EPR) programme.
