Diversity Travel has secured a contract to provide business travel management services to the Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium (SUPC).
The contract will see the TMC provide accommodation, air and rail travel to institutions which form part of the consortium.
The SUPC is a combined purchasing consortia representing over 300 higher education and further education institutions across the UK. Total travel spend for the group, which includes air, rail, accommodation and vehicle hire is expected to exceed £100 million.
Members of the SUPC, which include Aston University, Cranfield University and Kings College London, will now receive a 30 per cent reduction in transaction fees compared with the previous agreement.
Chris Airey (pictured), managing director of Diversity Travel, said: “We appreciate that academic travel can often involve last-minute or complex itineraries and our team of experienced travel consultants are on hand 24 hours a day to assist member organisations with everything they might need.
“Our online booking tools also allow staff and academics to search and book their own rail travel, flights, hotels and car hire, should they prefer.
“We’re delighted to be appointed to the framework and we look forward to providing the institutions with the widest and most flexible range of global academic air fares currently available.”
All submissions for the contract were assessed against supplier criteria including quality, the effectiveness of its online system, price and complex itineraries.
Diversity Travel scored highly on quality of service and was awarded maximum marks for its online booking system.
The travel management firm, which has offices in London, Manchester and Melbourne, will join five other suppliers on the SUPC framework.
Last week, Clarity Travel Management renewed their contract to supply services to the SUPC.
