A 150% increase in turnover at TMG Events signals a return to form for the corporate event sector, according to operations director Sophie Moseley.
Moseley said: "Normally, an increase in corporate event and conference activity is an indicator of how the economy is standing - and so we hope these levels of activity are maintained."
The company, a subsidiary of the Travel Management Group, saw a turnover of £1.6 million in the first financial quarter of the year, compared to £640,000 in Q1 2009.
The Midlands-based company said businesses began to increase the number of events they were looking to hold between March and May.
Top locations for events included Paris, Venice and Budapest, with a large number of UK-based events.
Moseley said she had also seen a return to longer haul destinations including Las Vegas. "[It] shows money is coming back into the market," she said
"It's a boost for the whole of the Travel Management Group to see such positive figures and the key will be to build on that throughout the rest of this year, and into 2011."
