SME
specialist travel management company Corporate Traveller says it has enjoyed its best month for
account wins since the start of the pandemic.
The company said it had
signed £4.9 million worth of new business from 26 new clients in July, the highest
since March 2020.
It
says the clients come from a diverse range of industries, with the top five
sectors committing to the biggest spend post-pandemic being:
1. Manufacturing and engineering, with a combined spend of £1,360,000
2. Media, film and TV, with a combined spend of £760,000
3. Charity and non-profit, with a spend of £750,000
4. Technology industry, with a combined spend of £675,000
5. Pharmaceuticals and healthcare, with a combined spend of £400,000
The
company says it has identified a more formal approach among SME clients since
the pandemic, introducing an RFP or RFI tender process, which also needs to
include increased sustainability credentials and duty of care elements.
Gary James, head of deals for Corporate Traveller, said, “The
signing of these new clients is an indicator that business travel is back on
the agenda for many SMEs, with international travel becoming more feasible as Covid
restrictions ease worldwide.”
