Expense management firm Concur has launched a UK App Centre featuring a range of popular travel apps.
The platform allows users to connect their Connect account with travel apps such as Uber for Business, Trainline Europe, Rocketrip and Marriott International. Concur has already signed up more than 70 partner apps for the UK version of the App Centre.
The initiative, which was launched at the Business Travel Show in London today (February 22), is designed to help travellers with their electronic receipts, as well as tackling practical issues such as finding airport business lounges, and getting advice on languages and culture for their destination.
The App Centre also provides more detailed information and levels of control for travel managers and expense administrators.
Chris Baker, Concur’s managing director of UK Enterprise, said: “Business travellers now want to book quickly, remotely and seamlessly. The App Centre shows not just the number of partners and investments that we have available, but also the quality of these.
“Business travel is now all about the connected trip, and we pride ourselves on keeping this at the forefront of all we do. The opening of our UK App Centre showcases our commitment to providing this.”
Concur’s App Centre was initially launched in the US in 2013 and currently features more than 150 partners.
The company particularly wants to target SMEs with the new platform.
Dafydd Llewellyn, managing director at UK SMB (small to mid-sized businesses) and nationals at Concur, added: “We are in the business of saving customers both time and money, so to have the app centre centralise all of our connections in one place is vital resource for our SMB customers and their business travellers.”
