Scotland’s Clyde Travel Management
has launched a partnership with Confirm Testing to provider
travellers with certificates saying they have tested negative for Covid and are
“fit to fly”.
Basingstoke-based Confirm Testing
offers home PCR-based testing. Travellers need to order the test at least
five days before departure and the passenger should carry out the test four
days before the flight. The test is returned to the lab in a supplied prepaid
envelope and, if the test is negative, the traveller will receive a ‘Fit to Fly’ certificate in PDF format via email.
The TMC has negotiated special
rates with the testing company of just over £100 (using the discount code CLYD10), compared with the testing firm’s
normal price of £149.
Richard Nicol, head
of business support and supplier relations at Clyde, said: “With country entry
requirements now more restrictive due to Covid-19, we are delighted to welcome
Confirm Testing as a key partner to offer customers access to a quick and
convenient service for PCR testing, further enhancing our service offering
during this dynamic time.”
The test is
intended for those people needing test results 72 to 96 hours before departure.
Note that some countries require negative tests a maximum of 48 hours before
arrival.
Scotland is not currently
subject to the international travel ban that is expected to be imposed on those
living in England from Thursday. The country has its own five-tier system with travel restrictions based on levels of Covid in circulation.
