Birmingham-based Click Travel has achieved a new standard of environmental best practice.
ISO 14001 is awarded to companies for their commitment to the environment by the British Assessment Bureau after an audit.
The certification means the travel management company can now be considered for public sector contracts, as the standard is a formal requirement before any company can apply.
Simon McLean, Click Travel’s managing director, said: “We’ve always been focused on reducing our environmental impact and going for ISO 14001 seemed a natural next step to formalise our commitment.
“Going for the certification has also been a great process in terms of standardising our waste monitoring procedures, and is, of course, now a requirement for many of our clients.”
Click Travel made “significant steps” to reduce its waste and environmental impact, according to Robert Fenn, the British Assessment Bureau’s marketing director.
“Opting for third party verification demonstrates that Click Travel take their environmental responsibilities seriously, setting them out as leaders in their industry,” he said.
