American Express Global Business Travel has appointed Caroline Strachan as VP of global business consulting for EMEA.
Strachan, who has worked in the travel and meetings industry for 20 years, joins the company from pharmaceutical firm Astra Zeneca, where she held the role of global commercial lead for business travel management.
In her new role for Amex’s business travel division, Strachan will oversee the sales and delivery of consulting engagements to American Express Global Business Travel clients in the EMEA region.
The Global Business Consulting team provides consultancy services including strategic sourcing, programme optimisation and relevant business intelligence which help clients better manage their T&E spend.
Under the leadership of Strachan, Astra Zeneca Travel Service, was awarded the Best Travel Team category in the 2013 Business Travel Awards.
Prior to working at Astra Zeneca, Strachan led the international travel programme at Yahoo and also headed up Global Group Travel/EMEA Travel Management at Cisco.
She has also chaired the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) in Europe and the Institute of Travel & Meetings (ITM) in the UK.
