Business travel agency Capita has started offering its clients the chance to buy wifi codes for journeys on East Coast Main Line services.
The TMC, which specialises in rail bookings, has unveiled the new product which allows wifi to be pre-purchased with standard class rail tickets and the cost billed directly to the corporate client.
Raj Sachdave, Capita’s head of rail product, said, “More customers are asking for an integrated rail solution that caters for end-to-end expenditure and we have responded to demand with cost savings to customer organisations combined with convenience for their travellers.”
Capita said that selling wifi codes meant that corporates could more easily recover VAT and reconcile the sale with their back office management systems.
Rosie Mohamed, travel procurement manager for law firm Pinsent Masons, said: “It improves our travellers’ experience as it is one less item for them to claim back, making business travel more efficient to manage. This will also allow the firm to gather greater management information on expenditure.”
Martin Turner, head of sales for East Coast Trains, added: “This is the latest of our efforts to improve customer satisfaction and experience for East Coast customers when travelling along the East Coast Main Line.”
