Carlson Wagonlit Travel has won a tender process to provide travel for engineering firm Siemens across Europe.
The TMC will provide travel services for Siemens across 32 countries after taking part in an eight-month RFP process. CWT won the Siemens account in Asia and Australia in 2016.
Thorsten Eicke, vice president, global mobility services at Siemens, said: “CWT showed a high level of flexibility in meeting Siemens’ needs.
“They demonstrated strong commitment and creative ideas during the entire RFP process, and offered a hub service configuration with a centralised customer support team that combines local needs with regional consolidation.”
Siemens is consolidating its travel management services across the world as part of its strategy of “global harmonisation” by 2020. This will include the standardisation of travel policy, management of supplier performance and pooling of demand.
James Kung, Siemens’ head of global travel management, added: “We are confident that, with CWT’s support, we will be able to continuously optimise the service for our travellers and successfully take the next steps toward our Vision 2020.”
Peter Ashworth, senior vice president central and eastern Europe at CWT, said: “We will bring Siemens real added value through the optimal combination of personal service and outstanding technology in our multinational service centres.”
