Carlson Wagonlit Travel has agreed a new global partnership with security specialist International SOS.
The TMC will now integrate International SOS’s global medical and security services into its platforms which will offer advice and support to buyers and business travellers visiting “complex or extreme” locations where they may face potential health or security issues.
As part of the "multi-year" deal, the security specialist wil provide pre-travel advice alongside medical and security assurance while travelling, as well as giving travel managers tools to assess the travel risk for employees, track and communicate with travellers, and improve compliance levels.
David Moran, CWT’s executive vice-president for global marketing and enterprise strategy, said: “Safety and security are crucial parts of CWT’s service to clients, and offer a wealth of opportunities for us.
“Through our agreement with International SOS we will strengthen our existing offer with industry leading medical and travel security services.
“Our mission is to empower travel and security managers with the necessary insight and control, and help companies fulfil their obligation to ensure employee safety and well-being.”
The new partnership will be launched in six of CWT’s major markets including the UK and the US.
International SOS’s chief commercial officer Philippe Arnaud added: “Companies have a duty of care for their employees. CWT agrees that good advice and on-demand support are essential to ensure travellers’ safety and well-being, which is why we are pleased to create a package of services for our joint clients.”
International SOS operates in 89 countries and its staff includes 1,200 doctors and 200 security experts.
