Carlson Wagonlit Travel has secured the contract to continue managing travel for energy giant EDF across 25 countries including the UK.
The TMC said it had won a new four-year contract with the French supplier following a competitive RFP process during which it had to fight off competition from other agencies.
Under the deal, CWT will continue managing global travel for EDF in the UK, France, Italy and Belgium, as well as expanding its footprint throughout other markets during 2014. The company has more than 167,000 employees across the world.
Bertrand Mabille, CWT’s executive vice president for France and Mediterranean, said: “We’re thrilled that EDF has recognized the flexibility of our proposal, our high sense of customer focus and our innovation when awarding this business.”
As part of the new arrangements, EDF has selected a single GDS Amadeus which will manage transactions from a centralised service centre in Saint Etienne, France.
