Hot on the heels of an acquisition in Costa Rica, Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has bought a Brazilian agency.
CWT bought the San Jose-based travel management company (TMC) Centenial Group in October.
In the latest development, CWT has bought Sao Paulo-based Net Tours Viagens E Turismo.
Net Tours has been offering travel management to corporate travellers since 1995, and has an annical sales volume of more than $160 million.
The move means a stronger position for the global travel management company in the Latin American country, said Andre Carvalhal, president and CEO of CWT Brazil.
“This acquisition will further consolidate CWT’s presence in Brazil,” he said.
“Latin America represents a real area of growth for the business travel industry, with Brazil in particular experiencing some of the most substantial increases of any region across the main areas of travel spend.”
