After buying Finnish travel management company (TMC) Kaleva Travel in February, ABTN can reveal that Carlson Wagonlit (CWT) remains on the look-out to acquire other businesses.
Douglas Anderson, CWT’s CEO, told ABTN in an exclusive interview that he would consider companies with good-quality client portfolios or in locations not yet covered by the firm.
He said, however, that growth by acquisition is not a focus for Carlson Wagonlit.
“We don’t have any particular burning need [to expand], but when we find a good deal, strong portfolio and strong management team, we’ll talk,” he said
“The synergy value – both the economies of scale around our operating platform and synergies related to supplier relationships mean it makes sense.”
There is no particular region the firm has marked out, but Anderson said CWT will look at locations where clients are developing their business.
